Ahead of the debut of her first single of the year, 2016 is due to be great year for London based singer songwriter Nommie. ‘Innocent Murder’ is the second release from her EP which is due to be to be released later on in 2016
‘Nommie’ as synonymously known to her peers, is a 22 year old singer-songwriter originally from Birmingham. From early age, she has always been surrounded by a music oriented family, and began singing at the age of 12, taking part in the school and church choirs.
In 2010, Nommie began to focus on her music and initially began by writing poetry, which she would then perform which led her to focus more on her artistry as she grew older. Come 2012, she finally began recording her music in the studio.
Her latest offering 'Innocent Murder' is a dark and punchy anthem which infuses R&B & Rock elements and tells a story of a young woman who confesses to killing her lover due to his infidelity. Nommie says this is far from literal but is a metaphorical illustration of the anger that can be the result in such situations. She says that the song was written for any male or female who had even been in such a situations & wants the song to act as a cathartic yet empowering statement.
On her second project, Nommie is looking to broaden her collaborations, with aims of working with various producers such as Dej The Ego and Prince Galilie who has worked with the likes of Paigey Cakey amongst others.
The video was shot by BistonLab & Boxmotion who have recently produced Hood Documentary and music videos such as that of Karmah Cruz.
