2016 looks to be the breakthrough year for London Rapper and producer, Dej The Ego. Since his debut premiere of R&B infused track 'Rhetorical' via Complex UK, Dej The Ego has gone from strength from strength.
Now with 2016 fast approaching, DTE has dropped his debut 5 track EP, Bad Singing, Good Rapping via ComplexUK. The EP kicks off with DTE reflecting on the current journey of the young artist. From the past, present and future with captivating lyrics detailing highs and lows of the London artist. The extended play continues to 'DeezPeez' previously premièred by Noisey in early October. The track reflects the deeper meaning of the EP, with Dej The Ego blending slow delivery, auto-tuned vocals over neo-soul sounds and Good rapping. If there's one track to solidify, DTE's vision, it is most likely this one.
Bad Singing, Good Rapping, continues to evolve with the tracks 'Couples in Westfield' and 'Wrong Side' with slow both dealing with relationships and ends with a triple threat track with artist Joey XL and AWr in an soothing end to what is a very unique and creative EP.
BSGR is able to express the talents of Dej The Ego, as great production and contemporary lyrics compliments the feel of the EP and gives us a taste of what is to be a big year for Dej in 2016.
