Editors Pick : Appelsap 2018 : 5 Artists Not To Miss!

Every August, Appelsap brings the sauce to Flevopark, Amsterdam with home-grown Dutch talent mixing with established International acts including in the past, Kendrick Lamar, Skepta and some of the best DJs in Europe. So when Appelsap announced 2018's line up with some heavy htiting names, we decided we should pick the five artists we recommend you do NOT miss at this years festival!


Blessed with contagious wit, windmill flows and a normal guy demeanour, Wiki also known as The Mayor, was one of the emerging talents of the new, New York era of rap in the early 2010's. Most recognised from his time with group 'RatKing' - Wiki has since flown solo with XL recordings, releasing mellow mood hitting project 'No Mountains in Manhattan' he has grown into a seasoned pro with a great catalogue of music, unmatched hooks coupled with bridge gapping hits such as 'Mayor'. Wiki will be blessing the Appelsap stage this year and will be sure to bring a taste of Harlem to Amsterdam.


The Nike not Fila wearing rapper Slowthai has been making grounds worldwide the past year with hits such as 'T n Biscuits' and 'North Nights'.  Following his debut release ' Filled with punk energy, hip hop story-telling and grime authenticity, Slowthai is a leader of a new school in his own right. Slowthai will be bringing England to Appelsap this year and expect nothing but 1000% energy, stage diving and mosh-pits when Slowthai enters the stage.  


Growing up in Ireland, Spain and now London, Biig Piig is the emotion fuelled, underground answer to trippy jazz. Invoking emotions through drowzy, somewhat trance inducing sounds, the mellow beats Biig Piig associates with are pure and exciting. Jump into Biig Piig's world at Appelsap, cig and wine in hand!


The Godfather himself, Wiley aka Wiley Kat, not to be confused with Eskiboy will be bringing the heritage and essence of Grime to Appelsap. Blessed with A-class lyricism, a flow master and vibe creator. Wiley always delivers the energy  and is sure not to dissapoint fresh off the release of Godfather 1 and 2 which took us back to where Grime stemmed from.


Since the release of his debut album Dex meets Dexter, Famous Dex has continued to grow and grow into one of mordern mumble raps poster children with soothing choruses, a rock star presence in line with your Uzi Vert's and a general dark vibe straight out of a rap horror with tunes like 'In The Bank' and 'Gun Fight' showcasing why Dex is rated in the streets and amongst his creative contemparies. Be sure to immerse into the mosh-pits as Famous Dex takes stage at Appelsap 2018.
