London based R&B artist Bluesforthehorn greets you into the world of blues from the horn with her debut release Summertime fall. Raised in London, Blue is of Somali descent and evidently wears it on her sleeve, and name.
The songstresses single, summertime fall is a trance like introduction to the nostalgic nature of her music. Her Cushion Soft vocals bounce from reminiscing about relationships, " but sometimes you shady" to explaining those temperature changes in the quest for love as she harmonises about " when the wind is deep and it feels so cold...."
Produced by SIP PRODUCTION - the single simply soothes in the right areas, as the harmonious nostalgic chords juggle with Blue's simple, yet compelling lyrics which wouldn't be out of place with everything that was good about 90s RnB. It is no wonder the track was featured on Jamz Supernova’s BBC1xtra show.
And that’s exactly what we should expect with musical influences such as ‘Aaliyah, Lauryn Hill and Destiny’s Child’.
